Just ordered the latest project from comic book-genius/mad scientist/internet jesus Warren Ellis and superstar artist D’Israeli. SVK was created in collaboration with London-based design studio BERG who also publish the book.
The story looks like the classic Ellis I love. The protagonist is an English psychic detective, Tom Woodwind, investigating mysteries in some sort of futuristic version of London. Warren Ellis himself describes the story as “Franz Kafka’s Bourne Identity”.
The book looks absolutely amazing. It also comes with an introduction by legendary author William Gibson and essays by futurist Jamais Cascio and comics historian Paul Gravett. SVK also uses som pretty cool techno-magic. It comes with a “Special Viewing Kit” wich is a UV lamp used to read invisible ultraviolet ink concealed within the pages of the book.
